Privacy policy
Your tabs stay yours.
Effective August 7, 2026
Tab Overview works entirely inside Google Chrome. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information.
Information used by the extension
Tab Overview uses Chrome’s Tabs API to read information about tabs currently open in the browser, including page titles, URLs, favicons, window assignments, active status, and audio status. This information is used only to display the tab overview and perform actions requested by the user, such as sorting, merging, switching to, or closing tabs.
Tab Overview uses Chrome session storage to remember which tab the user came from so the extension can return to it when the overview is closed. This identifier remains locally within Chrome and is cleared with the browser session. The extension also stores the last selected tab-sorting order in Chrome’s local extension storage so the Sort tabs keyboard shortcut can reuse that preference. This preference remains locally within Chrome and is removed if the extension is uninstalled.
Data collection and sharing
Tab Overview does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, user accounts, external servers, or third-party data services. No browsing information or other user data is transmitted outside the browser.
Changes to this policy
If Tab Overview’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes are released.
